Senior Structural Building Engineer

 

Charleson Engineering Ltd. is searching for an accredited, career orientated Senior Structural Building Engineer to join our team. Responsibilities:

Providing structural engineering expertise on a variety of building design projects. Duties would include the following:

• Design of new building structures as well as structural alterations, renovations, and additions to existing buildings.

• Design and detailing of structures including calculations and computer modeling.

• Perform site reviews and construction administration services during building phase.

• Conduct building condition assessments and prepare structural investigation reports.

• Planning and management of projects.

• Preparation of proposals and participation in business development opportunities.

• Collaborate with drafting personnel to assemble structural drawings.

• Coordinate with Architectural, Electrical and Mechanical consultants.

• Mentorship and training of junior staff.

Qualifications Required:

• Have a Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.

• Eligible for registration with Engineers and Geoscientists of Manitoba.

• A minimum of ten years of relevant experience.

• Ability to work and complete tasks independently, make decisions and take responsibility on technical matters.

• Work together with support personnel to complete projects on time and on budget.

• Demonstrated working knowledge of the National Building Code and CSA standards.

• Must possess a team player attitude and be able to work in a project team environment.

• Be fluent in the English language with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite.

• AutoCAD drafting skills an asset.

• Must have a valid drivers license.

• Experience with design related to restoration of existing structures an asset.
